Why The Meaning of Blue Roses ?
While looking on our desktop for mother's dresses and dresses for my youngest daughter, as my oldest daughter was getting married soon, I was cyberattacked. It's actually been years now that it's been going on. My daughter was sitting down and writing about all kinds of Flora as something from the AG Center was streaming through the internet and computer. She wrote down rainbow and blue roses. I suppose from whatever she heard going through the computer and because her sister was picking out flowers for her wedding. My youngest daughter, only eight or so at the time. I'm not sure what kind of hidden meaning there was supposed to be. I know a red rose means I love you and white roses are used for remembrance. Yellow for memories and joy. Rainbow roses have to be dyed or created. There's no such hybrid. All man made.
The meaning of blue roses comes from the fact that the blue rose has been sought after for a long time. Through the ages of time. Only no true blue rose exist. You can make a hybrid Rose and come out with a pale blue lavender. Of all the meanings that I've looked up for the color of roses, the one I liked best about blue roses was it stands for dreams unfulfilled.
I once asked my ex-husband Damon to get a blue rose bush. They had a lavender blue rose at Lowe's hardware. He looked at me and said those are only for men aren't they? Of course he would probably rebuke that statement and claim it never happened, but it most certainly did. It was such an odd comment even for him.
Anyway, my daughter chose white roses, pink peonies and pale pink flowers for her wedding. It was lovely. My first marriage which is supposed to be forever but neither of mine were, I had silk flowers. Actually kept the cake topper and bouquet sealed with the dress. Wouldn't it be nice if when silk flowers for a wedding were used, we placed them on the grave as a spray when we pass on? Wouldn't it be nice if marriage lasted until death do us part?
I hope they stay married forever and have lots of memories.
